This is the Guimard entrance of the Denfert Rochereau entrance. I have found a website with all the Guimard stations (it is possible to find there metro stations that are almost identical to the one in Mexico city). It seems that during the 40s Guimard stations have been destroyed (!!!). A part of theses stations have been given to other cities metropolitan such as Montreal (Canada), Lisboa (Portugal) and of course Mexico city. So David it seems that the Guimard station you have in Mexico city is an original one!

it was given to Mexico City by the French government when president Chirac came (1998, i think), but i thought it was just a copy, not an original one

you are right! i have checked on official sites, you only have a copy. not an original one.
i have also seen that new york got one, trying to find the picture...
